About Me

Well, to start, my name is Katie.

I married Chris in 2007 shortly after his first deployment (which lasted 22 months including train up and demob).  We are an Army Guard family.  As of 2012 we have two deployments under our belts as a couple, one as parents.

Our first child came in December 2009 and she has been a wonderful handful ever since.  You will see an awful lot of her and her little brother on this blog because they are my life and way more fun to try to photograph than any of my other subjects to talk about.

Our second child will be here in January 2013 and he is coming in the middle of all sorts of family projects like moving into our new house (with just over a week to get settled before he comes out if he cooperates).

Relocating our family has taken almost (if not over) half a year now.  Chris has a wonderful job that emphasizes family importance and we couldn't be more grateful to them for the support and understanding that they have given us during this move, pregnancy and general family events as well.  It has been nothing short of mind-blowing when compared to other jobs we have had in the past.

I studied History and Religion in college and am passionate about tolerance and understanding of other cultures.  I encourage learning the perspectives of others to not only bring about a more fulfilling relationship (or even simply a discussion), but to form your own opinions and beliefs from a more educated stance.  I can't imagine forming a full opinion without having open-mindedly looked into and RESEARCHED at least some of the opposing viewpoints.  It will not be often though that you will see political or religious posts on this blog.  It takes a mighty big wave of unending annoyance or closed-mindedness before I break down and vent about such topics on my blog.

I've picked up a new hobby over the last half of 2012...paper crafting!  I'm not great at it but I'm having fun so I'll likely share some of the cards I make over 2013 with you...and any other crafting I pull out as well.

Overall, this blog is my place to share our lives in bits and pieces with those who might be interested.  I write it because I enjoy it.  If I cease to enjoy it, I will cease to publish a blog.  I hope you find some things that you enjoy here.  It has no rhyme or reason other than what I feel like writing about, whether it is a new Pinterest project or a toddler story that made me laugh or blew me away.

So, Welcome!
